My approach to counselling:

I am often asked, “So do you only counsel individuals, couples or families from a Christian or faith-oriented background??”

My deep love and respect for people has indeed come from my faith in God – realising that each person is made in the image of God.

That being said, I strongly believe in a client-centred approach and only work with that which you choose to share in our sessions. If you do not wish to raise your or any particular faith in the counselling session, I will not, from my side, approach this topic with you.

I draw from different methods of counselling, making use of elements of Narrative Therapy and the McMasters Model of Family Therapy when working with families. With couples, I implement the Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy approach, and at times I like to incorporate an eclectic combination of all three, as well as other approaches.
